NZAFT- French Embassy Competition 2009: I love French!
The NZAFT and the French Embassy are organising a competition open to students of French in NZ schools, running Term 2 2009. Students can enter individually or as a team (3 maximum)
Each of the 3 categories: years 7-8, years 9-10, years 11-13 will be eligible for prizes. The 1st Prize for each category is Ipod Nano 8Gb and a range of printed resources kindly sponsored by the French Embassy.
TASK: Use any digital tool (video clip, webpage, PPT, podcast, digital story telling, flash animation, wordle, Blogster, Blog, Wiki etc) to let the world know why you love French! Your digital presentation must include 3 times I love French and a minimum of 5 French words. Entries are free.
Make sure your presentation is original, with a good balance of media (text, audio, images etc) and that it has a sound structure. The finished product must be NO MORE that 5MB , as it will be uploaded on www.french.ac.nz to be judged.
Your presentation will be judged Ruth BOURCHIER (National Adviser), and Dominique SUQUET, Attaché Culturel at the French Embassy in Wellington, according to the following criteria:
- It respects the rules set (see Task and Conditions of Entry))
- It is convincing, interesting and a great ad to get to learn French!
For the complete outline (task and conditions of entry), support information to teachers, entry forms and how to submit an entry go to: http://www.french.ac.nz/index.php?section=76 ( www.french.ac.nz> about > nzaft )
Deadline for submitting entries is July 1st 2009
Why not try using wordle? http://wordle.net
Hint: To save your Wordle use the Print Screen function (usually Prt Scr button on the top right of the keyboard). This captures whatever is on the screen and stores it into the computers memory. Then on a blank slide in PowerPoint choose paste and crop your Wordle picture (using the Crop tool in the Picture tools) to get rid of all the menus and extra bits that you do not want. Now right click on the image and choose Save Picture. You now have your Wordle just as a picture file which could go into a wiki, PhotoStory, Movie, Podcast, Glogster or whatever.

Perhaps Glogster would appeal more (you could even use your Wordle image as the background to a Glogster page)
